Tron (TRX) has taken its 2nd position from Ethereum in China’s “Global Public Blockchain Technology Assessment Index.”
In CCID’s previous report, the 16th largest cryptocurrency by market cap of $1.3 billion, Tron dropped one spot down to 3rd place. Tron was replaced by Ethereum (ETH) which has been yet again overtaken by TRX.
Tron scores better than Ethereum in basic technology while Ethereum beats Tron in creativity and applicability in China’s CCID blockchain tech ranking.
A research institute, China Electronic Information Industry Development (CCID) works directly under China’s Ministry of Industry & Information. The institute offers its consulting services to the government.
Interestingly, Tron Foundation’s latest partner, Steemit also made it to the 5th place. The platform has been acquired by Tron founder and BitTorrent CEO Justin Sun.
Last week, Tron Foundation announced a strategic partnership with Steemit which will be migrating to Tron Network.

While Ethereum and Tron kept on one-upping each other by shuffling on the second and third place, the leader of the CCID’s crypto project’s ranking remained constant throughout. EOS is the one that leads the index by scoring the highest in the basic tech.
Basically, all three of the smart contract crypto projects that are competing in the decentralized application (Dapp) sector took the first three places.
Just like EOS, Bitcoin maintained its position at 11th place like last time. The world’s leading cryptocurrency got the best score in the creativity category.
Meanwhile, Stellar Lumens (XLM) and Ripple (XRP) got 12th and 13th places respectively. While XRP scores better in creativity, XLM takeover XRP in basic tech and applicability.
